Like a piece of taffy
Stretched to the limit
Pulled in one direction
Then tugged in the other
How much can it take
How much till it breaks
Watch the cracks appear
No longer shiny and clear
This taffy no longer
tastes as sweet
it's stretching causes
it to taste so bitter
The time will come
When it must split
In two fragments
Just as I am now
